Simplis Technologies Announces the Release of SIMetrix/SIMPLIS 7.0

Simplis Technologies, Inc. announces the release of SIMetrix/SIMPLIS 7.0. New features include multiple core support for multi-run and Monte Carlo simulations, a new part search/selector dialog that simplifies part discovery and component placement and significant performance improvements for both the SIMPLIS and SIMetrix simulation engines. The Design Verification Module (DVM) is now fully supported on the Windows x64 platform and offers new test objectives, measurement functions and a built-in efficiency testplan for DC-DC converters using SIMPLIS. For a full summary, please see the Release Notes.

The multiple core support for multi-step runs (such as Monte Carlo analysis) can speed up simulations by a factor that is close to the system core count. For example, 3.5X improvements have been seen on 4 core machines. The new products that offer this multi-core capability are SIMetrix/SIMPLIS Pro (max 4 cores) and SIMetrix/SIMPLIS Elite (max 16 cores). (For more details)

New SIMPLIS enhancements can offer 2X-3X speed improvements for simulations using Piecewise Linear (PWL) sources. Both new and existing schematics that either use PWL sources with a large number of PWL segments or use PWL sources to simulate line or load transients may see substantial reductions in the simulation CPU time using SIMPLIS version 7.0. A new Part Selector window integrated into the schematic editor provides a hierarchical method of browsing all available parts. A companion search feature is also available. This part selector and search feature can be configured by the user if required.

The Design Verification Module (DVM) is now fully supported in the 64 bit version of SIMetrix/SIMPLIS. Including measurements from fixed schematic probes and custom measurements in a user-defined Testplan and a summary DVM Report have been made even easier in version 7.0. Converter efficiency measurements are easy to include in user-defined Testplans and a new Converter Efficiency Built-in Testplan is now available, complete with overview graph of efficiency versus line and load.
